General FAQ’s
-
DeliverIT is a local pickup, delivery, truck-with-driver, and moving assistance service designed to make transporting furniture, household goods, Marketplace purchases, store pickups, and other large items easier.
Whether you need a truck and driver, help loading and unloading, or assistance moving multiple items between locations, you can choose the service that best fits your needs.
-
Yes. Our base delivery services include a truck and a driver.
You do not rent or drive the truck yourself. Your DeliverIT driver handles the transportation from pickup to delivery.
-
No. DeliverIT trucks are provided with a driver and are not offered as self-drive truck rentals.
-
It depends on the service you select.
Our Truck + Driver Only service includes transportation but does not include customer loading or unloading assistance.
If you need help, choose:
Truck + Driver + Light Labor for lighter items that can safely be handled by one person.
Truck + Driver + Heavy Labor Assistance for heavier, oversized, awkward, or more difficult items.
Choosing the Right Service FAQ’s
-
To help us provide the right service, please have the following ready:
Pickup location
Delivery location
Description of the item(s)
Number of items
Approximate size and weight
Photos when available
Information about stairs
Elevator information
Parking/access information
Whether you need loading or unloading help
Whether an additional helper may be needed
Any additional stops
The more accurate your information is, the easier it is for us to prepare for your delivery.
-
Start by considering how much help you need.
Choose Truck + Driver Only if you have your own help for loading and unloading.
Choose Truck + Driver + Light Labor if you need the driver to assist with lighter items that one person can safely handle.
Choose Truck + Driver + Heavy Labor Assistance if you have heavier, oversized, or harder-to-maneuver items.
If your delivery involves especially heavy furniture, stairs, multiple large items, or something that clearly requires two people, you may also need an additional helper.
-
Truck + Driver Only is our transportation-only option.
It includes:
A truck
A driver
Pickup and delivery
Transportation between your locations
A limited amount of loading/unloading time for the customer to load or unload the truck
The driver does not provide labor under this service.
This option works best when you already have people available to load and unload your items.
-
The service includes up to 15 minutes at pickup and up to 15 minutes at delivery, for a total of up to 30 minutes.
Additional loading, unloading, or waiting time may result in an additional charge.
-
This service includes a truck, driver, transportation, and assistance from the driver with items that can safely be handled by one person.
This may be a good option for lighter furniture, boxes, smaller household items, or similar items that do not require two people to safely lift or maneuver.
-
Light Labor generally applies to items weighing up to approximately 75 lbs. each that can safely be handled by one contractor.
If an item is too large, heavy, awkward, or unsafe for one person to handle, Heavy Labor Assistance or an additional helper may be required.
-
This service is intended for deliveries involving heavier, larger, oversized, awkward, or more difficult-to-maneuver items.
It includes a truck, driver, transportation, and heavier-duty loading/unloading assistance.
Some deliveries may still require an additional helper, depending on the item, access conditions, or safety requirements.
-
Heavy Labor may be appropriate for items such as:
Large furniture
Oversized furniture
Very heavy items
Items weighing more than approximately 75 lbs.
Items that are difficult to maneuver
Deliveries involving challenging stairs or access conditions
The appropriate service level may depend on the specific item and pickup/delivery conditions.
-
No.
Some items require two or more people to move safely. If the item cannot reasonably or safely be handled by one person, an additional helper may be required.
DeliverIT or the assigned contractor may decline to move an item if the conditions are unsafe or proper assistance is not available.
Multiple Stops, Multiple Items & Round Trips FAQ’s
-
Yes. Our Multi-Item / Bulk Shuttle / Round Trip Service is designed for customers who have multiple items to pick up or who need multiple trips between the same pickup and delivery locations.
-
Additional pickup stops may be available as an add-on.
Extra pickup locations may result in additional charges based on the distance, time, and number of stops required.
Distance & Mileage FAQ’s
-
DeliverIT pricing is based in part on the distance between your pickup and delivery locations.
Your base service covers a specified mileage range, with additional mileage charges applying when the delivery exceeds that range.
-
Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
-
Mileage depends on the service being booked.
Standard deliveries generally use the applicable delivery distance, while multi-trip or round-trip services account for the additional travel required between locations.
-
Additional mileage charges may apply.
DeliverIT will calculate the additional distance as part of your service.
Loading, Unloading & Waiting Time FAQ’s
-
Yes, a limited amount of loading and/or unloading time is included depending on your selected service.
Additional time beyond the included allowance may be billed in 15-minute increments.
-
If loading, unloading, or waiting extends beyond the time included with your service, an Additional Loading and/or Unloading Time charge may apply.
This helps account for the driver's additional time at the location.
-
Additional Customer Wait Time may apply when a delay is caused by the customer, seller, store, recipient, or pickup/delivery location.
Examples can include:
The item is not ready
The seller is late
Store pickup is delayed
The recipient is unavailable
Access to the property is delayed
Wait-time charges may apply in 15-minute increments.
-
Please make sure your item is:
Ready for pickup
Accessible
Cleared of personal belongings when appropriate
Ready to be safely transported
Available when the driver arrives
If you selected Truck + Driver Only, please also make sure enough people are available to safely load and unload your items.
Stairs, Elevators & Access FAQ’s
-
Yes, depending on the service selected and the accessibility of the property.
Please tell us about stairs, elevators, long walking distances, parking restrictions, or difficult access before booking so we can determine the correct service and price.
-
There may be.
Additional charges can apply when a delivery involves stairs because of the extra time and labor required.
The amount may depend on the number of flights and the service being provided.
-
For pricing purposes, a flight generally refers to a standard set of stairs between levels.
Please tell us how many flights are involved at both the pickup and delivery locations when booking.
-
Elevator access itself is not necessarily an extra service, but customers should tell us in advance when an elevator will be required.
Elevator availability, building access, parking distance, and wait time can affect the amount of time required to complete your delivery.
-
A Long Carry Fee may apply when the driver or contractor must carry items a significant distance between the truck and the pickup or delivery location.
This can happen when:
The truck cannot park near the entrance
The property has a long driveway or walkway
Loading areas are far from the unit
Building access requires a lengthy walk
Extra Helpers FAQ’s
-
Yes.
Additional labor assistance may be available when your delivery requires more than one person.
This is especially important for heavy, oversized, awkward, or difficult-to-maneuver items.
-
You may need an additional helper if your item:
Is especially heavy
Is oversized
Requires two people to safely carry
Must be moved up or down stairs
Has difficult pickup or delivery access
Cannot safely be handled by one driver
If you are unsure, provide an accurate item description and photos when booking so DeliverIT can help determine the appropriate service.
-
If the item cannot safely be handled by one person, the driver may be unable to complete the loading or unloading until appropriate assistance is available.
Additional labor charges may apply, or the service may need to be adjusted.
For everyone's safety, drivers are not required to attempt lifts or maneuvers that cannot reasonably be completed safely.
Oversized, Heavy & Specialty Items FAQ’s
-
Yes, oversized items may be accepted depending on the item's dimensions, weight, required equipment, vehicle capacity, and loading conditions.
An Oversized Item Fee may apply.
-
An item may be considered oversized when its size, weight, shape, or handling requirements go beyond what would normally be expected for the service booked.
The exact requirements depend on the item and the conditions of the delivery.
-
Possibly, but these items may require special review before your delivery is accepted.
Items weighing 300+ lbs. or requiring extraordinary handling may require additional labor, equipment, or a customized quote.
-
Yes.
A driver or contractor may decline an item when it cannot be transported or handled safely, when appropriate equipment or assistance is unavailable, or when the actual conditions are significantly different from what was provided during booking.
Safety comes first.
Furniture Preparation & Disassembly FAQ’s
-
Furniture disassembly or reassembly is not included with the standard delivery service.
If available, it may be offered as an additional service.
-
Standard transportation does not automatically include full packing services.
Customers are responsible for making sure items are appropriately prepared for transportation.
Special handling or protection may be available depending on the service and request.
-
Yes, whenever practical.
Dressers, cabinets, desks, shelving, and similar furniture should generally be emptied before transportation to reduce weight and help prevent damage.
Marketplace, Store & Seller Pickups FAQ’s
-
Yes! Marketplace purchases are a great fit for DeliverIT.
We can pick up qualifying items from sellers and transport them to your location.
-
Yes.
DeliverIT can provide pickup and delivery from participating or accessible retail locations, provided the item is ready for pickup and the store allows third-party pickup.
-
Not necessarily.
If a seller, store, or another authorized person can release the item to the driver, you may not need to be there.
You are responsible for making sure the seller or pickup location knows the driver is coming and that the item can be released.
-
Wait-time charges may apply if the driver must wait for the seller or pickup contact.
If the delay becomes excessive or the pickup cannot be completed, the delivery may need to be rescheduled or treated as a failed delivery depending on the circumstances.
Failed Deliveries & Return Trips FAQ’s
-
A delivery may be considered failed when the driver arrives as scheduled but cannot complete the pickup or delivery because of circumstances outside of the driver's control.
Examples may include:
The seller is unavailable
The customer or recipient is unavailable
The item cannot be released
Access to the property is unavailable
The item is significantly different from what was described
The item cannot be safely transported
A failed-delivery fee may apply.
-
A return-to-origin trip may be required.
Because this creates additional mileage, driver time, and transportation, additional charges may apply.
-
Refunds depend on why the delivery could not be completed.
If the driver has already traveled to the pickup location or performed part of the service, some charges may still apply.
Please provide complete and accurate information when booking to help avoid failed deliveries.

Additional pickup stops
Additional helpers
Stair assistance
Long-carry service
Return-to-origin trips

Last-minute services depend on driver availability, equipment, time, and safety. Some changes may require approval or an adjustment to your booking.
Safety & Service Limitations FAQ’s
DeliverIT drivers and contractors are not expected to perform lifting, carrying, loading, or transportation that they reasonably believe is unsafe.
Additional assistance, equipment, or a different service may be required.
-
Customers should provide accurate dimensions and item information before booking.
If an item cannot safely fit in the assigned vehicle because the item's size or quantity was not accurately reported, the service may need to be modified, rescheduled, or completed with additional trips.
-
No. Service availability depends on the item's size, weight, condition, accessibility, required equipment, and whether it can be safely transported.
Providing photos, measurements, and accurate details before your appointment can help us determine whether your item can be accommodated.
